Australian based Mollydooker produce wines that make people go 'Wow!' Though attention to detail and commitment to excellence #Mollydooker has established themselves as one of the most exciting wine-makers on the planet.
The year was 1991, Sarah and Sparky Marquis had recently married on the back of finishing their winemaking studies with the world at their feet. They had each other, they had $1000 between them and they had dreams of developing their own business. They wanted to succeed in a career they were both passionate about, help others when possible, and to always have fun.
They started out as winemakers for Sarah’s parents at Fox Creek, McLaren Vale in 1994. They developed and implemented their Marquis Vineyard Watering Program™ in the vineyards, which produced the exceptional grapes that would go on to make their award-winning wines.
Over the next few years, they went from strength to strength; they won the Bushing King and Queen Trophy for Best Wine in Show three times and were crowned Australian Boutique Winemakers of the Year, as well as Australian White Winemakers of the Year.
Famed for producing many big hitters including,The Boxer, arguably Mollydooker’s most recognisable wine and indeed, the most ubiquitous. The 2018 Boxer will win over Shiraz fans with a soft plummy mouthfeel, well measured tannins and rich fruit, creating a wine with many layers. Bursting with an enticing aroma and an intense, elegant flavour spectrum, the Boxer truly is a knockout.
~ The Maitre d’
The Maitre d’ was named after Sparky, who put himself through winemaking college as a left handed Maitre d’. Vibrant and generous, with aromas of blackberries, milk chocolate and soft herbaceous notes. Subtle tannins and fragrant oak reside quietly in the background as flavours of raspberry, plum and mocha give this wine incredible depth and finesse.
